Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU (earlier 97/23/EU)

The CE PED applies to the design, manufacture and conformity assessment of stationary pressure equipment intended for use under inner pressure with a maximum allowable pressure greater than 0,5 bar. Pressure equipment with operating conditions higher than the forementioned falls under the scope of the Directive and therefore CE marking is required by law. This includes equipment such as (steam) boilers, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, piping, pressure cooker.

The CE PED divides equipment into different (risk) categories and different modules which are used to demonstrate compliance with the requirement of the PED.

The CE PED is mandatory and aims to guarantee free movement of the products in its scope while ensuring a high level of safety.
